Hi
I have an EOS 40D, it will not power up when switched on, I think the power board may need replacing, if so what would the cost be?
Cheers
Ernie
Hi Ernie
This sounds like it is the D/c circuit which has
failed unless it has got wet at any time. Providing
it is the D/C circuit then to replace this and service
the camera would be £105 plus return postage and VAT
We look forward to seeing your camera. Please use
this reference F109 when sending in.

Hi! my EF-S 17-55 2.8 has a communication error everytime i use above 35mm focal. auto focus works and using anything below 35mm works just as fine. how much will it cost me to have it repaired? thanks
Hi Ren
This lens has a break in one of the communication flexes
To dismantle and replace this, clean and reassemble and
Full lens alignment would be £110 plus return postage
and vat. I hope this helps and look forward to seeing your
lens, Please use this reference F108 when sending in
Hi there,
I have a 2006 Canon 70-200 F/2.8 L IS lens which has picked up a couple of marks to the front glass element along with a few nicks to the rear rubber mount weather seal. Are these lens components replaceable and if so, what cost would I be looking at?
Many thanks
Sam
Hi Sam
That’s one of the most expensive elements at £219 plus
vat for the part alone. We could fit the front element and
a new rear weather-strip only for £60 labour or a Full service
at £120 plus the cost of the part, plus return postage.
Please use this number F108 if you intend to send in.
Hope this helps.
Hi, I have an 18-55 IS lens where the focus motor seems to have died. The IS works fine, manual focus is fine, but with the lens on AF, it doesn’t do anything. About how much would it be to get this repaired?
Thanks, Anu
Hi Anu
To repair your EF-S 18-55 lens would be £60 plus return
postage and VAT. This will probably require a new AF motor
which would be included in the above price.

I have a Canon Power Shot A3100IS which is water damaged could you please give me an estimated cost for repair.Look forward to hearing from u. Regards
Hi Margaret
Thank you for your email. Due to the nature of
water damage, it really is impossible to give a
realistic price without first seeing the camera
to find out the extent of the damage. If you
would like to send in, we will estimate the cost.
If you do not want to go ahead with the work
or it is beyond repair, all we would charge for
Is the postage back to you. Hope this helps

hello, i emailed yesterday about my canon 1000d getting error 99, i think i have narrowed it done to the SD card, works fine without one in, turning it off and on works ok, put any SD card in and the error comes up, help please?
Hi Michael
Thanks you for your email. My initial thought from your first
message was that the sensor cleaning function was at fault
but from your 2nd message it would appear that the card
slot could be causing the issue. Have you tried a different card?
If the card is corrupt this could give the error. If not then we can
repair this in a service which would be £80 plus return post
and VAT. Please include your lens as these can also give an
Error 99. Please quote this number if sending in J104.
Regards, Ron

Hi, I have a Canon 450d and the flash has become stuck and will not open. A clicking noise is made when it tries to open and then an error message shows saying ” Err 05 the built in flash’s auto pop-up was obstructed. Turn the power switch to off and on again.”
How much would it cost to get this repaired?
Many thanks,
James
Hi James
This is normally one of 2 things, if the camera has
had a dump this can distort the front cover whih then
restricts the flash from moving (popping up) or the
flash pop up levers need replacing. Either way, this
will be done under a service/repair price of £90 plus
return postage and VAT
We look forward to receiving your camera, please quote this number when sending in J102
