Canon has advised me ‘copied below’ to send you my Canon Powershot A85 for a free repair regarding the faulty distorted pink images. Please can you confirm this before I post the camera to you from cornwall.

‘We kindly request users who have confirmed these symptoms to contact the nearest Canon Service Centre. Free repairs will be made for affected products in cases where it has been confirmed that the internal CCD wiring has come off.’

Yes the Powershot A 85 is covered by a recall free repair
if showing blank or pink images. But be quick as this runs
out at the end of this year, so send in now to save any
disappointment

Thank you for contacting us, Canon do not make a model called Ixus 801s or Ixus 501?
The recall above is for a faulty CCD unit and not if your barrel is stuck, you say you can drop the camera’s off to us so please bring them in and we can give you a estimate to repair them.

hi there,
this is the second canon Ive had that the lens has stuck. my recent camera is an ixus 801s and the lens is stuck out. the other one is an ixus 501 and the lens wouldnt come out.
